Pakistan is known for its two vocal styles in singing. First is Ghazal a traditional expressions of love, separation, and loneliness. Second is Qawwali, the devotional music of the Chishti Order - a vibrant musical tradition.

Pakistan have Punjabi musical instruments that strengthens the importance of musical instruments in Pakistan. 

However,  Indian's vocal music are influenced by ancient Hindu musical traditions, historical Vedic religion or philosophy, some native Indian sounds enriched by Persian practices. Nasal singing is observed in their vocals.

Indians instrumental music is often similar to their vocals but sometimes they have distinctive styles. There are five known traditional systems for classification of instruments: Ghan, Avanaddh,Sushir, Tat, and Vitat.
