How organisms use light energy to form energy

Photosynthesis is the process where plants make glucose from carbon dioxide and water with the help of sunlight. Photosynthesis is divided into two reaction: the light dependent reaction and the light independent reaction.

The light dependent reaction uses light energy from the sun two split the water molecule into hydrogen and oxygen. The Hydrogen will then be carried by electron carrier NADP+ to the next reaction which is light independent reaction or the Calvin cycle that occurs at the stroma of the chlorophyll. In here the carbon dioxide will undergo different steps of carbon fixation together with the electron carried by NADPH and molecule of ATP produced from light reaction. The result of the carbon fixation is the simple sugar.
