Different polar covalent bond from nonpolar covalent bond?

Polar covalent bond involves unequal sharing of electrons while the nonpolar covalent bond involves equal sharing of electron.

Ionic bonds result from transfer of electrons, whereas covalent bonds are formed by sharing. Ionic bonds are electrostatic in nature, resulting from that attraction of positive and negative ions that result from the electron transfer process; charge separation between covalently bonded atoms is less extreme.

Ionic bond → Ionic bond is formed by the transfer of electrons from metal to non - metal atom is called ionic bond.

In ionic bond formation cation and anion takes part.

Covalent bond→ The bond which is formed by the sharing of electron pairs is called covalent bond.

Non - metals mainly form covalent bond.

If a compound is made from a metal and a non-metal, its bonding will be ionic.

If a compound is made from two non-metals, its bonding will be covalent.

Nonpolar covalent bonds are a type of chemical bond where two atoms share a pair of electrons with each other. Polar covalent bonding is a type of chemical bond where a pair of electrons is unequally shared between two atoms.
