Good Day

Problem:

In every chemical reaction of Substance A, the sum of the weights of the products formed is greater than the initial weight of A which undergoes a reaction. Substance X,in turn, undergoes a chemical reaction in which the combined weight of the products is exactly equal to the initial weight of X which reacted. What kind of substances are A and X?

Substance A is a pure compound or substance (element or compound)

When we combined   Na  +  Cl₂  ⇒ NaCl

NaCl has a greater mass than Na

NaCl has a greater mass than Cl₂

Substance X is a mixture (the substances are just mixed and the chemical constituents stay the same.)

Hope it helps...=)

Hello!

If 15 ml of alcohol is added to 50 ml of H20. What is the concentration of the solution ?

We have the following information:

% v/v (percentage of volume per volume) = ?

V1 (solute volume) = 15 mL

V (volume of the solution) = solute + solvent = 15 + 50 = 65 mL

We apply the data to the formula of volume percentage of the solute per volume of solution, we will have:

\%\:v/v = \dfrac{v_1}{v} *100

\%\:v/v = \dfrac{15}{65} *100

\%\:v/v = \dfrac{1500}{65}

\boxed{\boxed{\%\:v/v \approx 23}}\Longleftarrow(percentage\:concentration)\:\:\:\:\:\:\bf\green{\checkmark}

The concentration of the solution is approximately 23%

answer:

Oil-removing filters are typically used for oil purification and separation of heavy oil/water mixtures, in which water has higher density compared to oil. Water-removing membranes are advantageous for light oil/water filtration, wastewater treatment and other water purification processes.
